Grant (give) me (your child)
the Serenity (peace of mind)
to accept (live with)
the things (and people)
I cannot change (make the way I would like them to be),
The Courage (and strength) to change (influence)
the things I can (with God's help),
and the Wisdom (through the Holy Spirit)
to Know (understand) the Difference.
Living only one day at a time; Enjoying one only moment at a time; Accepting hardships I encounter as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as Jesus Christ did, this sinful world as it really is, not as I would like it to be;
Trusting that He will make all things right if and when I surrender to his will and stop doing my own will;
That I may be reasonably happy and content in this life and supremely happy in the next; and because of this peace I have discovered and received, I will be more than willing to share it with others so they too make come to know you.
